Hi Joanne. A 2.15am post...that's impressive! I read your piece on Cowen's speech. Aside from his rugby remarks, he was suitably sombre with not much in the way of positivity except for a few well meaning platitudes. I wonder if he stopped at Sainsbury's in Newry on the way home for a few messages?!

The IoD recently made a submission to the consultation on Planning Reform. Over 80 questions were posed in the consultation and our submission endorsed many of the planning proposals designed to streamline the process and speed up decision-making.

IoD Bank Lending Survey - The Results

Today we published the results of the second IoD Bank Lending Survey. This survey asked businesses about conditions since April 2009.

Invest Growth Fund for NI Businesses Announces First Investment

The Invest Growth Fund (IGF) is a new £5m venture capital fund that has been set-up by Invest NI to invest in start-up and early-stage businesses based in Northern Ireland.

The Invest Growth Fund provides equity investment capital up to £250,000 for high growth businesses.

The IGF has completed its first investment of £100k, taking a stake in Sonic Music Services Ltd (Sonic Academy) as part of a £340k financing from the IGF, Business Angels and other sources of financial support.
